Golden Globe Awards 2014: 12 Years A Slave and American Hustle top nominees for the 71st Annual Golden Globes

Nominees for the Golden Globe Awards 2014 ceremony were announced yesterday ,12th dec. 2013 by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The Golden Globes honor the year's best in film and television, split into the genres of comedy (or musical) and drama.

This year's Golden Globe nominations were led by "12 Years A Slave" and "American Hustle," which scored seven nominations each, including Best Picture honors in, respectively, the drama and musical or comedy categories. On the television side, "Breaking Bad," "Downton Abbey" and "Brooklyn 99" were among the top-nominated programs. Woody Allen, meanwhile, will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment" during the 2014 ceremony.

The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on Jan. 12, 2014. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will act as hosts for the evening.
